Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am very pleased to present the 2 recipients of the Churky Apparel Honors Award for the coming academic year! Below includes the individual students, their college destination, and current GPA status. My hearty congratulations to the students chosen and i wish the students great success with their college studies!
In the first year of the Churky Apparel Honors program, 1 scholarship was presented. Now in its 3rd year, the program has become a true part of Churky's culture. Many thanks to the buyers for strong financial support for the program. Of equal importance is the personal support and encouragement offered to these fine young people by Churky Apparel. This scholarship program is a lasting tribute to the life and spirit of myself (Kamecia Tutt) and certainly i would be very pleased to see such great support for these students offered in my cartoon fashion name. Thanks to all of you for making this a reality.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Churky Apparel is providing scholarships for deserving students.
Who is eligible for the scholarship?
• Applicants must be high school seniors, high school graduates, or undergraduate students already enrolled in college.
• Applicants must be under the age of 25 and have purchased Churky Apparel from online. A receipt needs to be sent with application. Note: If you have not supported our company, we can not accept your application form. A valid receipt needs to be submitted along with application. We are seeking Churky the Cartoon fans ONLY.
• Applicants must demonstrate proof of satisfactory academic progress in school.
• Applicants must gain admission to a two-year or four-year college, community college, technical school.
What qualifies as a "child"?
"Children" are defined as natural, adopted, legal guardians or resident stepchildren.
When does the program start?
The applications will be available April 1, 2011. Interested applicants may request a paper application by contacting DBK by mail at P.O. Box 240033, Charlotte, NC 28224; or by phone at (704) 208-9242; ; or by email at management@churkyapparel.com.
When is the deadline for submission of applications?
All materials must be submitted to DBK with a postmark no later than May 31, 2011. All materials must be mailed in ONE envelope.
What constitutes a complete application packet?
1. Signed TERMS OF AGREEMENT.
2. OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT with grades and cumulative GPA posted through Fall 2010. High School students must submit their SAT/ACT scores.
3. Signed PERSONAL STATEMENT regarding importance of scholarship, college and or career plans.
What is the value of the scholarship award?
In 2011-2012 the Churky Apparel Scholarship Fund will offer up to 2 annual scholarships, each with a maximum of $100.00 for college spending money and books and supplies for the start of the season. The award will be applied to the student.
What college may I attend?
You must be a full time or part-time student enrolled at any accredited or non-accredited undergraduate two-year or four-year college, university, community college, technical college or trade school. Transfers are allowed provided the college meets the above criteria. Recipients must pursue fashion marketing and merchandising, fashion designing, graphic design, animation, art, illustration, digital design, or media arts and design.
How are winners selected?
Scholarship recipients will be selected on the basis of potential to succeed in the student's chosen educational field. This is a competitive scholarship program.
How will I be notified if I am chosen as a recipient?
Winners will be notified by mail of the decisions of the committee.
Is this scholarship renewable?
Scholarships are awarded on an annual basis and are non-renewable, however, current recipients may reapply each year for a maximum of two years total. Current recipients must remain in good standing with their school, must make acceptable progress towards a degree and remain enrolled full-time or par-time.
